It's starting to feel like Spring in Iowa is here, and you know what that means - potholes popping up like daisies! At the City of Fort Dodge, we're committed to turning the annual complaints of 'I can t believe how bad these potholes are' into 'I can t believe how good this pizza is!'
Join the fun by reporting potholes, and you could win some delicious prizes to make up for the rough ride during our upcoming 'POTHOLES & PIZZAS - THE GREAT SPRING POTHOLE HUNT!'
Duration: March 1, 2025 - April 30, 2025 (Because potholes don't disappear overnight)
Monthly Prize (March & April): One lucky pothole spotter each month will be chosen at random to receive dinner on us from Kwik Star. Because what's a pothole contest if the prize isn't POTHOLE pizza? Get it? ...
o 2 Pothole Pizzas
o Family-size cheese-filled breadsticks
o 4 refreshing drinks (non-alcoholic)
How to Enter:
1. Spot a Pothole: Is there a craggy crater ruining your commute? A giant gash in the road that would make a trucker weep? Report it using TextMyGov.
2. Bonus Entry for a Pic: Take a pic of that pothole! Show us the beast that's been trying to swallow your car. You ll get a bonus entry if you attach a picture of the pothole!
3. Extra Fun: Your pothole pics might even get featured on the City's social media! So, get out there and send us the biggest and best potholes you can find!
Selection of Winners:
• Each month, one lucky winner will be randomly chosen from all eligible entries.
• Winners will be notified via TextMyGov ONLY.
• That could be YOU! So, get snapping, get reporting, and get ready for your pothole-free prize!
Terms and Conditions:
• Eligibility: You must have completed the reporting process and received a submission request number.
• How to Win: Only potholes reported between March 1 and April 30, 2025, will count. So, report 'em before they re gone!
• Claim Your Prize: If you win, you'll have 30 days to claim your prize (we don't want that pizza to go cold).
• By Entering: When you submit your pothole pic, you re giving us permission to feature your awesome, crater-filled photo on the City's social media. Fame, here you come!
Disclaimer: The City of Fort Dodge might modify or cancel the contest if the potholes somehow get fixed before the end of April (but let's be real, that's probably not happening). We reserve the right to turn your pothole complaints into a whole lot of fun. THE ROAD IS REOPENED TO ALL TRAFFIC.
Public Works crews will be performing a road closure and water outage starting tomorrow morning, Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 7:00 am, on N 7th St (River Rd) north of Miller Drive to the National Avenue fork, for a water main leak repair on N 7th St just north of Miller Drive. This stretch of road will remain open to local residential and emergency traffic.
