Downtown parking is monitored by our Community Service Officer. On-street parking is timed, with the spaces allowing for two-hour parking.
Effective January 1, 2023, the City of Fort Dodge will be rolling out the new paperless parking permits for Downtown city lots. Users will be able to choose from several options:
General Parking (Auto Renew Monthly) * Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm * $22.00/month
General Parking (Month to Month) * Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm * $22.00/month
General Parking (Annual) * Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm * $242.00/year (one month free)
Overnight Parking (Auto Renew Monthly) * Around the Clock 24/7 * $30.00/month
Overnight Parking (Month to Month) * Around the Clock 24/7 * $30.00/month
Overnight Parking (Annual) * Around the Clock 24/7 * $330.00/year (one month free)
Reserved Parking (Auto Renew Monthly) * Designated Parking Spot * $40.00/month * Must contact the City/CSO to purchase.
To purchase a pass, users should visit https://www.tocite.net/fortdodgeiowa/portal. First time users will need to register for an account prior to purchasing a pass. To create an account, click on the login button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, followed by “Create Account”. You’ll then receive an email from customer_service@upsafety.net asking you to confirm your email. After confirming your email, return to the sign in screen and log into your newly created account. Select which permit you wish to purchase and proceed through the form. Note that ID # is your driver’s license number. Once you’ve completed the process, you’ll receive another email confirmation when your parking permits have been processed and approved.

Parking fines are set at $15.00.
Parking tickets may be appealed within 10 days of the date that the ticket was issued. If your appeal is denied and you wish to further appeal the ticket, you may do so through the court system. You must file the appeal within 10 days of receiving the ticket. Appeal forms can be obtained at the Fort Dodge Treasurer's Office, the Fort Dodge Police Department, or by clicking here.
